DEPLOY is now a Carbon Smart Certified Company

DEPLOY is pleased to announce that it is now certified as a Carbon Smart company.

Being “Carbon Smart” means through rigorous evaluation on all aspect of its business operations and processes, DEPLOY is confirmed to be a low carbon company and acknowledged for its conscious and continuous efforts to reduce its carbon footprint and environmental impact.

DEPLOY recognises that climate change is a serious global problem and is committed to minimising its contribution to this issue. It aims to further reduce its carbon footprint by 20% within 3 years from its current measured footprint of 14.8 tonnes of CO2e per annum.

DEPLOY uses a wide range of environmentally certified textiles and sustainable innovation suppliers, as well as ethically run boutique production houses in the UK and in Taiwan to ensure the highest quality European and Asian fabrics are sourced and produced in the vicinity to where each garment is made.

DEPLOY’s garments are ingeniously designed to be multi-functional or interchangeable for multiple occasions and thus help to moderate the over consumption and excessive wastage in the inherent nature of fashion.

Furthermore, DEPLOY’s consistent usage of fabric salvage and garment off-cuts to create desirable accessories such as fascinators and scarves further ensures that its ‘carbon smartness’ does not stop at recycling paper and bottle wastes, but starts with upcycling resources and energy.

In addition, DEPLOY works with Via Design and Trinity Hospice, two reputable charities, to contribute both in knowledge share and clothing donations to ensure that DEPLOY’s cradle-to-cradle vision and practice extends beyond its own processes and into a wider social and environmental context.

Beyond Buying Organic – DEPLOY’s 360° Responsibility takes sustainable fashion to new realm

DEPLOY demi-couture is pioneering a new approach to sustainable fashion: from concept to customer, everyone involved in the fashion value chain can now play their part to reduce the impact of fashion on the environment by creating more out of less.

In the DEPLOY Marylebone Boutique and Atelier you will find a beautifully designed collection of day, suiting and occasion outfits and unique bridal-wear, all of which have been ethically produced from start to finish. The bespoke service means you can also be part of the creative process and realize your own vision to suit your exact needs an style.

The key to DEPLOY’s 360° responsibility approach lies in a unique customizing system which enables signature pieces to be worn in a number of ways; a coat becomes a dress, a dress a skirt all with the snap of an imperceptible fastening. This multifaceted design approach means that the customer is also involved in reducing environmental impact; each outfit provides numerous looks and functions, increasing the versatility whilst reducing the need for excessive consumption and wastage the most unsustainable aspects of the fashion industry. Furthermore, seasonal new fashion elements can be added on to your DEPLOY pieces to enhance product longevity and lasting style.

Founded by Bernice Pan, DEPLOY is a label that considers fashion function as well as its form. Bernice trained in high‐end fashion houses in London and New York before undertaking a PhD in Fashion Innovation and conceiving DePLOY. Her approach was to look at the whole fashion supply chain and how to make it more sustainable, creative, and responsive to the end consumer. “My aim is not only to make the fashion process less wasteful, more sustainable, but also more responsive to the customer’s personal sense of creativity and style”, says Bernice.

DEPLOY uses environmentally certified textiles suppliers and boutique production houses to ensure the highest possible quality in each garment made.

The combination of this vision further led to the launch of sister brand ‘Hennumi Accessories’, designed and founded by Tosin Trim, Partner of DEPLOY. Hennumi up-cycles off‐cut materials as the basis to create exquisite fascinators and cocktail hats which both perfectly complement the elegant full look of the DEPLOY woman. Together, the two brands completes ‘cradle‐to‐cradle’ philosophy in the full cycles of the fashion chain season after season.

DEPLOY’s holistic design ethos and business model is truly customer‐centric and has garnered the attention of the trade and academic world as well as the retail market place, and Bernice has been busy inspiring the next generation with her lectures on ‘The Fashion System’ at universities both in the UK and in the Far East.

The additional bespoke service available at its Marylebone boutique and atelier, is where customers can meet with Bernice to experience the full authenticity and accessibility of the couture golden era.

“D” means ‘Deploying…’

DePLOY---1-outfit-into-fina

DEPLOY is a thoughtful, strategic action to re-distribute. Deploying the concepts and calling of customised, sustainable high-fashion into our entire brand ethos, business model, design process, and customer offering – we endeavour to make a small difference; a positive contribution to your everyday life.

‘demi-couture’ is half-couture, as DEPLOY sits assertively between ‘haute(=high) couture’ and mass luxury ready-to-wear. Couture, is defined in its old-fashion sense, where outfits are purpose-designed and carefully handmade for the individual, in fit, in style, in need or occasion.

We design outfits tailored to your look and your lifestyle, not trends that you must fit into.

We invite you to specify your fit and your fashion, not be prescribed by us.

We believe that creativity belongs to everyone, and our expertise is in listening, articulating, crafting and executing your vision into reality.

That is why DEPLOY is a place to create, not just to consume.
